Nectar was requested to lighten the Maersk Arizona in a complex operation in Vladivostok
By chartering a small coaster to lighten 6,000mt of wheat, Nectar was able to berth the mother vessel on time despite temperatures of -32 degrees and bad weather.
Approx 3,000mt of ice had built up on the mother vessels decks during the voyage to Vladivostok. This had to be removed before the hatches could be opened and the discharging operations could begin.
Nectar sent its own team of port captains and technical support staff to oversea the operation, and to make sure the cargo was unloaded in the quickest possible time.
Nectars own fenders were shipped to Vladivostok. Seen here awaiting the arrival of the coaster, the build up of ice on the Maersk Arizona can clearly be seen.
